Sergio Lecis

Allievo di Dionigi Burranca dal quale
iniziò a prendere lezioni nel 1978. Al fianco del Maestro
è stato più volte protagonista di imporatanti incontri
e seminari, nazionali e internazionali, di musica tradizionale,
come a New York nel 1986 per il centenario della Statua della
Libertà. Ancora con Burranca è presente nell' ultimo
lavoro discografico del Maestro nonchè in un altro CD allegato
alla pubblicazione "SONOS" sugli strumenti della musica
popolare sarda. Lecis ha al suo attivo diverse partecipazioni
in produzioni originali come quella del 1990 con il grande jazzista
Ornette Coleman, quella più recente del musicista New Age
Maurizio Conte, la presenza nell' opera teatrale "Senza Terra"
della compagnia Cada Die alternandosi con un altro allievo di
Burranca, Bruno Loi. Sergio Lecis è presidente dell'Associazione "Sonus De Canna"
con la quale manda avanti diverse iniziative e ricerche, attività
didattiche, concertistiche e divulgative. Ballo

He was one of Dionigi Burranca's students, from
whom he started taking lessons in 1978. He was a protagonist of
important national and international meetings and seminars on
popular music together with Burranca many times such as for the
Statue of Liberty centenary in New York in 1986. He was again
with Burranca in the Master's last recording production, apart
from a participation to another CD, enclosed to "Sonos"
magazine on Sardinian popular music instruments. Lecis numbers
several participation to original productions like the 1980 one
together with the great jazz player Ornette Coleman or the more
recent one with the New Age musician Maurizio Conte , or his presence
in the theatre work "Senza terra" by "Cada Die
Teatro" company from Cagliari in which he alternated with
another Burranca's student, Bruno Loi in the following repeat
performances. He is the president of "Sonus de canna"
Association with which he keeps several initiatives and researches
besides teaching, concert and popular activities going.
