Gioacchino
Seu
Villaputzu 1873 - Cagliari 1957
Another important figure among the players from Sarrabus, contemporary of Giuanniccu Cabras, since a child he learnt the secrets of this ancient art together with the one of a shoemaker.
His double activity, very common to other players, often forced him to move from Villaputzu to Monastir, Genoni, Gergei and Cagliari.
Seu lived a quite wealthy life and he performed in every part of Sardinia often on important occasions, besides fulfilling his obligations as a yearly contract player in different villages of Campidano where he lived for a number of years. This photo, which was taken in 1929, portrays him with the well known accordion player Onofrio Casu.
