Giovanni Giuanniccu Cabras
Villaputzu 1872 - Decimomannu 1942
He took his first lessons from his father Antioco, coming in contact with
Agostino Vacca, he deepened his repertory and soon became an excellent
player. He went often to perform in Campidano too, meeting and becoming
friend with all the best performers. This allowed him to model the style of
Vacca with the ones of the Sanna's and of the Pireddu's, creating his own
personal model, that is still remembered for its elegance and its executive
rigour. Cabras has certainly to be placed, among the best interpreters of this century.
