Sin da piccolo apprese l'arte di suonatore dal padre Efisio già allievo di Giuseppe Figus. Viene ricordato per la partecipazione a tutte le manifestazioni civili e religiose del suo paese e talvolta dei centri vicini, durante le feste domenicali. Coetaneo di Beniamino Palmas che abitava a Monserrato, i due suonarono spesso insieme riscuotendo consensi tra gli estimatori. Marceddu morì purtroppo all'apice della sua popolarità, a soli 50 anni. La bella foto lo ritrae con alcuni compaesani nel 1921.


Since a child he learnt the player's skill from his father Efisio who had been one of Giuseppe Figus's students. He is remembered for his participation to all the public and religious events of his village and sometimes of the near centres during the Sunday feasts. He was a contemporary of Beniamino Palmas from Monserrato and they often play together winning praise among estimators. Unfortunately Marceddu died at the height of his popularity, when he was only 50. This beautiful photo shows him with a few people from his same village in 1921.
