Efisio Melis

E' da molti considerato il migliore suonatore di questo secolo.
Fu allievo sin da bambino di Giuanniccu
Cabras e divenne in breve tempo un esecutore molto quotato
e ben pagato: la sua lunga carriera musicale è stata costellata
da grandi riconoscimenti. Diceva il Bentzon: "Efisio Melis
è la figura che spicca maggiormente tra i suonatori di
launeddas di questo secolo, ed ora è già leggendario
per la sua gelosia, per il suo temperamento violento e per la
sua quasi incredibile eccellenza tecnica e musicale"...e
ancora "Egli ha portato le launeddas verso l'estremo limite
delle possibilità offerte dallo strumento". Dobbiamo
a lui anche le prime registrazioni discografiche nel 1930. Brano

Is considered by many people, the best player
of this century. Since he was very young he had been pupil of
Giuanniccu Cabras and, in a short while, he became a very well
rated and payed performer. His long musical carrier has been peppered
with great acknowledgement. Bentzon said : "Efisio Melis
is the performer who stood out mostly among the players of launeddas
of this century, and now he is already a legend for his jealousy,
for his violent temper and for his almost incredible technical
and musical excellence." and also "He brought the launeddas
toward the utmost limit of the possibilities offered by the instrument".
We also owe to him the first discographic recordings in 1930.
