Nella Barbagia, al centro della Sardegna, si sono mantenute inalterate diverse tradizioni musicali di origine arcaica, eccezion fatta per le launeddas, attualmente quasi inesistenti seppur sicuramente presenti in tempi remoti. Beppe Cuga è uno dei rari suonatori presenti nella zona e porta avanti una tradizione che gli è stata tramandata dal nonno e dal bisnonno.
