Beppe Cuga
Ovodda (Nu) 1946
In Barbagia, in the centre of Sardinia, have remained
almost cospicuous musical traditions of archaic origin, which
are, a part from launeddas, practically almost nonexistent at
present, Thought they certaily existed once in remote times. Beppe
Cuga is one of the rare performers existing in that zone, and
carries on a tradition which has been handed down from his grandfather
and his great-grandfather. His style is very personal and transfers
the typical dance performances of the male multivocal choir with
four voices, "Su Cuncordu". Recorded piece that can
be listened to : Su Dillu de Ovodda
