This is a health and tourist resort situated on the slopes of the Gennargentu mountain. It is situated at
1.000 metres above sea level among woods and pastures. Fonni is a winter sports centre with a ski lift to
Monte Spada and Bruncu Spina. There is the very important Sanctuary of the Vergine dei Martiri from the
XVIII
century which is a destination for pilgrims. Going up Gennargentu Mountain one can enjoy a beautiful views.
In the surrounding area there is the Tombs of the Giants and the artificial basin of Gusana. The local
female
costume is very characteristic.
