This is a mining centre founded in 1700. In the surrounding area there are various mines and deserted mining
villages. Not far from the village there is the Gulf of Gonnesa with its beautiful beaches full of sandy
dunes and the tuna fishing complex of Porto Paglia. This was once one of the most important tuna fishing
complexes in Sardinia.
